This 5-Piece Brad Point bit set from Mibro - a 60 plus year old company selected as one of Canada's "50 Best Managed Companies" comes with 1/8-Inch, 3/16-Inch, 1/4-Inch, 5/16-Inch, and 3/8-Inch bits. Bits larger than 3/16-Inch have 3 flats on the shank so that the drill chuck gets a better grip on the bit. These are premium milled and polished fluted bits with a center spur and 2 shoulder cutting spurs. The center spur starts the hole and keeps the drill from walking. The shoulder spurs carve a very clean, not torn or splintered, hole. Brad point bits will cut up , down or at an angle and with a drill depth stop, can be used to cut holes for doweling. Brad point bits are preferred by most woodworkers. They also wok well in plastics.
